How to Care for Your Copper Water Bottle

Your Aurava copper bottle is a handcrafted piece that will last a lifetime with proper care. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your bottle looking beautiful and functioning at its best.

Daily Cleaning

Rinse your copper bottle with warm water after each use. For a deeper clean, mix equal parts water and white vinegar, add a pinch of salt, and shake vigorously. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry upside down.

Natural Patina vs. Tarnish

Over time, your copper bottle will develop a natural patina — a greenish-brown coating that is completely normal and even desirable. This patina is a sign of genuine copper and does not affect the water quality. However, if you prefer the original bright copper finish, you can restore it using our cleaning method above.

What to Avoid

  • Do not put your copper bottle in the dishwasher
  • Do not store acidic beverages (juice, carbonated drinks) in your copper bottle
  • Do not use abrasive scrubbers that could scratch the surface
  • Do not freeze your copper bottle

The Lemon and Salt Method

For a natural polish, cut a lemon in half, dip it in salt, and rub it over the exterior of your bottle. The citric acid and salt work together to remove tarnish and restore the copper's natural shine. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.

Storage

When not in use, store your copper bottle in a cool, dry place. If storing for an extended period, clean and dry thoroughly before storing to prevent moisture buildup.
